The Asus VivoTab has a 8 inch IPS LCD display with standard 1280×800 resolution. At the core, you will get Intel Atom Z3740 processor with 4 cores ticking at unspecified frequency. The 2 GB LPDDR3 RAM backs the four thread processor. The internal storage is 64 GB and microSD support for up to 64 GB is also present. The camera specs are nothing special with a 5 MP shooter at the back and a HD camera at the front. The differentiating feature of the windows 8.1 based tablet is the Wacom digitizer which Asus claims can sense up to 1000 pressure points on the tablet. The stylus can be embodied in the casing of the tablet.

The battery life will last 8 hours according to Asus. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, Miracast and Micro-USB. The tablet weighs only 380 grams which is pretty light considering other 8 inch tablets and added Stylus. The new tablet will come bundled with Microsoft Office Home and Student software, which includes Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote, which will enhance the productivity aspect of this tablet. The SonicMaster audio technology with custom hardware and software has been used to provide with high quality Audio. The 32 GB model is priced at $299 and the 64 GB model at $349. The tablet is expected to be available for purchase in second quarter of 2014. Although late, Asus has come up with a Stylus tablet, but has chosen Windows platform for the same, it remains to be seen how well the Stylus integrates with the VivoTab Note 8.
