Camera and Internal Storage
The BlackBerry Z3 comes with a 5 MP camera at the back with auto focus, LED flash and FHD 1080p video recording capabilities. There is a 1.1 MP front-facer onboard that can make HD 720p video calls. Though the camera appears to be average as compared to the Android offerings in this price range it is expected to perform decently with acceptable quality images and videos. The internal storage of the smartphone stands at 8 GB which can be expanded by another 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card. This is pretty moderate and we do not have any complaints in this regard.
Processor and Battery
The chipset under the hood of the BlackBerry Z3 is a Qualcomm MSM8230 Snapdragon 400 one housing a 1.2 GHz dual-core Krait 200 processor paired Adreno 305 graphics unit and an impressive 1.5 GB of RAM. With a relatively larger RAM as compared to the competitors, the handset will definitely have better multi-tasking, but the lack of a quad-core processor is a downside. The battery unit in the BlackBerry Z3 is a 2,500 mAh one and it is rated to offer a talk time of up to 15.5 hours and a standby time of up to 384 hours. These figures are pretty much acceptable for an affordable smartphone and it can stack up well against its rivals in this segment.
Display and Features
BlackBerry has given the Z3 a 5 inch display which has a qHD resolution of 960×540 pixels. The big screen display unit will be good for viewing all types of content, but pixilation will be noticeable to some extent due to the average resolution that results in a pixel density of 220 ppi. The handset is based on BlackBerry 10.2.1 OS and it has the usual set of connectivity features such as 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC.
Comparison
The BlackBerry Z3 will compete with the likes of Moto G, Micromax Canvas Doodle 3 A102, Xolo A1000 and Nokia Lumia 630.

Price and Conclusion
BlackBerry appears to have done a good job with the Z3 as the device packs impressive specifications. The device is a good competitor for its pricing, however we expected it to retail at much lower price. The price disclosed is the MRP price and the best buy price might be significantly lower after the availability date.
