The smartphone was initially launched in China back in May. The phone was launched in Gold and Black color options at price tag of 1499 Yuan (approximately Rs. 14,400). Coolpad promoted the phone, with 6GB of RAM and a massive 4,060mAh battery as a gaming device. The Coolpad Cool Play 6 features a metal frame with a fingerprint scanner and dual camera setup at the back. The volume rockers and the power button are situated on the right edge of the phone. The dual speaker grilles sit at the bottom along with the USB Type-C port.
The Cool Play 6 features a 5.5 inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display. The dual SIM phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. It is powered by an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 processor with Adreno 510 GPU. It is further coupled with 6GB RAM, which is one of the highlights of the device. It houses 64GB inbuilt storage on board which is expandable further with a microSD card slot. For imaging, the Coolpad Cool Play 6 sports a dual camera setup at the rear. It has two 13-megapixel Sony sensors with f/2.0 aperture for monochrome and depth of field capturing. The main sensor comes with a 6P lens, phase detection autofocus, and dual-tone LED flash. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The smartphone houses a 4,060mAh battery that is said to deliver up to 252 hours on standby and up to 9 hours of internet browsing. It is also said to offer 8 hours of video streaming and 6 hours of extreme gaming. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 ac/a/b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and USB Type-C port. The phone was given a price tag of CNY 1,499 (roughly Rs. 14,000) in China, so it is expected to be priced around the same range in India as well. The Coolpad Play 6 will be available for sale from August 20 onwards.
