Camera and Internal Storage

Gionee P2S features a 5 MP primary snapper at its rear with LED flash and also includes a VGA front facing camera to assist in making basic video calls. Being an entry-level phone, the camera these average camera specs are good enough as almost the other phones in this price range also come with similar photography capabilities only. But, it would have been great if Gionee has come up slight enhancements in this segment to make it a better package. The handset comes with 4 GB of internal storage space that can be expanded up to 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card. Of course this storage capacity is low, but it is convincing as there is an expansion card slot on board. Moreover, most of the rivals of the Gionee P2S also feature similar storage capabilities.

Processor and Battery

Gionee has given the P2S a dual-core processor running at 1.3 GHz speed, but the exact chipset that is employed under its hood remains unknown. This processor is combined with a Mali 400 GPU to handle the graphics department and a low RAM of 512 MB that can deliver only basic multi-tasking. But, considering the low price range of this phone there is no complaints in this department. Battery capacity of Gionee P2S is 1,600 mAh battery and with the screen size of 4 inch and a dual-core processor, this battery should be sufficient. Though the backup offered by this battery is not known, it is believed to pump in at least a decent backup for the handset to last for a day on moderate usage.

Display and Features

The Gionee P2S sports a 4 inch WVGA display that packs a resolution of 480×800 pixels, which is again very basic. This should be suitable for an entry-level phone though it cannot deliver superior quality content with its low screen resolution. The latest Gionee phone comes with the usual set of connectivity options such as 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS and it runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS.

Price and Conclusion

On the pricing front, the Gionee P2S bears a tempting price tag of Rs 6,499 that is definitely reasonable for all consumers to purchase the handset without burning a hole in their pocket. But to keep its price tag low, the handset seems to have missed a few elements though it is not a downside for an entry-level phone.
