Update 2: (2015) Indian Home Ministry has given their approval to Google Street View service. This approval came after Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year. Google already has approval for mapping historical monuments in Street View but now the service is expected soon to be rolled out to normal cities. Google India Blog announced yesterday that it would begin collecting photographs of Indian roads and nearby areas as a part of Google maps street view. The collection will start from Bangalore and will eventually spread to the other major cities of the country. However, there are news of people already spotting Google vehicles in Mumbai, Noida, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and other cities. After starting Street View technology in US and spreading it to 27 counties, 4 years later, it finally came to India.
