Honor had launched the Honor 9i mid-range smartphone in India last year. Now, a new Honor 9i (2018) has been launched in China with some upgraded features and changes. The new Honor 9i comes with a dual rear camera and a single camera at the front while the previous version of Honor 9i came with quad cameras.
Honor 9i (2018) Specifications
The new Honor 9i 2018 comes with a 5.84-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2280 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display with 19:9 aspect ratio which means it has a notch on top. The phone comes with a back-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Hybrid dual SIM phone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with EMUI 8.0.
The phone is powered by an octa-core Kirin 659 processor with MaliT830-MP2 GPU. The company has also promised to upgrade its GPU via Turbo graphics processing acceleration technology which will come to the phone via OTA update by July 30. This will increase graphics processing efficiency of mobile phone for a smoother experience, especially for games. It packs 4GB RAM, and 64GB or 128GB storage which is expandable up to 256GB with microSD. In the camera department, it sports dual rear camera setup with a 13MP primary rear camera with LED flash and a secondary 2MP camera. There is a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies. Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS / GLONASS. It is powered by a 3,000mAh battery. The phone packs 3.5mm audio jack, and FM Radio. Dimensions of the phone are 149.2×71.8×7.7mm and its weight is 152g.
Pricing and Availability
The Honor 9i (2018) is priced at 1399 yuan (Rs. 14,640 approx.) for the 64GB version and the 128GB version costs 1699 yuan (Rs. 17,780 approx.). It comes in Black, Blue, Green and Purple colors and is available for pre-order in China and will go on sale from tomorrow.
