Another phone from Micromax, Micromax Bolt A58 showed up on their official website today. Micromax recently launched several phones in Micromax Canvas Fun series including A63, A74 and A76. With this device Micromax has moved one more step down the budget Android ladder.
This phone comes with a 3.5 Inch display with 320 x 480 pixel resolution which is a humble display meant for general purpose light usage. We have so far seen 4.5 inch display in Bolt series phones like Bolt A67 and Bolt A40. The phone is powered by a 1 GHz Dual Core MediaTek MT6572M processor which belongs to the second generation dual core processors from MediaTek to further reduce the cost. This processor is backed by a 512 MB RAM and 512 MB internal storage out of which only 90 MB will be available at users end. MicroSD card support up to 32 GB is also present in this device. The phone comes with a simple 2 MP camera at the back with Flash and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly bean operating system. This is a good trend and with more and more budget phones coming with Android jelly bean, its share among android devices will increase which will be a source of convenience for the App developers, as they don’t have to optimize apps for lower versions. The battery capacity is 1200 mAh which will give you a talk time of only 4 hours and standby time of 200 hrs. Inspite of the small battery capacity 3G support is present. Other connectivity features includeWiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 and micro USB. The phone also supports Dual SIM functionality. With the shower of budget android phones with each passing day, we can safely assume that there is a huge market for these phones in India. Even Tier one manufactures like Samsung have ventured in this arena with phones like Samsung Galaxy Smart Pro and Samsung Galaxy Trend. This phone is a basic android phone which admirable body design and will be good option for those planning to switch from feature phone to Android O.s. This phone is expected to compete with Phones like Xolo A500S and Spice Stellar Glamour.
