Physical Overview

The OnePlus X has surely done a huge improvement over the design and build quality compared to the predecessors. It has a 5 inch display panel with beveled bezel edges that makes it easy to hold and use single handedly. The front and back has glass panels, which is jammed using a metal frame. Another version of the handset offers fire-baked ceramic back, in place of the glass. The construction feels very solid as the phone feels little heavier than usual 5 inch phones. The overall design and build quality is great and this device surely leaves an impression if design is concerned. If you have a look around the phone, you will find a SIM tray placed above the volume rocker and the lock button on the right side,

User Interface

OnePlus X has Oxygen OS based on Android Lollipop which was found in OnePlus 2 earlier. It has almost the same features available that exist in OnePlus 2, and the feel is still like the stock Android. It is swift, smooth and easy to use while switching apps, opening and closing of apps. The animation in the UI makes the user experience very fluidic and it does not look unpleasant to your eyes for a single second.

Camera Overview

Paying attention to the camera, we found that it has few changes this time. The main camera comes with a 13 MP Isocell sensor with an 8 MP shooter in front. Both front and back cameras feature LED flash light. The camera UI is the same which is present in the OnePlus 2, so that OnePlus lovers can feel right at home. It features PDAF which naturally makes photography with this phone a treat. Images in good lights were impressive; the focus was fast and captured good colour and details. In low-light the 13 MP snapper struggled in focusing and even the quality was not that great. Front camera works well; it is capable to click decent looking selfies.

OnePlus X falls in the price bracket of 16-18k INR phones, it has got premium looks and built quality which works in favor but on the other hand, some other phones like Moto X Play has got bigger battery compared to one plus x for a slight difference in price and offers stock android vanilla experience. Another phone with which competes with OnePlus X is Lenovo Vibe P1 which has got some cool features like finger print sensor, custom UI and better built and looks.

OnePlus devices have always impressed us and have created a fan following with just 2 devices in the market, we are glad to have the same experience in smaller and affordable package this time. The design and couple of newly introduced features make it a steal at this price. At 16,999, OnePlus has besieged the right spot with a great set of specs and striking design and build. Where the Ceramic version may sound way more overpriced at INR 22,999, it is a limited edition offering and can be considered if you really look for a tough shell.
